The Center for Advanced Studies: Finance & Inequality (CASFI) is pleased to welcome Clemens Jobst as a visiting researcher in Bonn from September to November 2026.

Clemens Jobst is Professor at the University of Vienna working in financial history with a special focus on central banking.

At CASFI, he will continue a project on the regional branches of the Austro-Hungarian Bank and their relation to spatial and income inequalities in the late Habsburg Empire, as well as on the management (and financing) of the state-owned industries of Austria following WW2.

During his stay in Bonn, Clemens Jobst will participate in the 6th European Macrohistory Conference on “The macroeconomics of (de-)globalization”, which will take place at the University of Bonn on September 24–25, 2026.

We are delighted to welcome Professor Jobst to CASFI and look forward to the exchange of ideas and perspectives during his stay in Bonn.
