6th European Macrohistory Conference on "The macroeconomics of (de-)globalization"
The Center for Advanced Studies: Finance and Inequality (CASFI) is pleased to host the 6th European Macrohistory Conference on "The macroeconomics of (de-)globalization" to be held on September 24-25, 2026. Therefore the organizers invites submissions of high-quality research papers.
CASFI is organizing this conference in cooperation with Rui Estevez (Geneva), Eric Monnet (Paris), Matthias Morys (York) and Kirsten Wandschneider (Vienna). Keynote speaker is Kevin O'Rourke (Paris).

Call for Papers
Possible Topics (including but not limited to):
- Long-run trends in trade, capital flows, migration, and financial integration
- Macroeconomic volatility under different globalization regimes
- Monetary and fiscal policy in open economies (e.g., under the gold standard, Bretton Woods, or flexible exchange rates)
- Globalization and inequality: distributional and political economy dimensions
- Sovereign debt, financial crises, and international contagion
- Supply chains, industrial policy, and structural change
- Wars, sanctions, and geopolitical fragmentation
- The role of international institutions in stabilizing or reversing globalization
- Comparative studies of integration and disintegration episodes
Both country-specific studies and comparative or global analyses are encouraged.
We are delighted to announce that Professor Kevin O’Rourke (Science Po, Paris) has agreed to deliver the keynote lecture.
Submission Guidelines:
Please submit an extended abstract (1,000–1,500 words) or a full paper in PDF format. Submissions should include the paper title, author(s), affiliation(s), and contact information.
