The Centre for Advanced Studies in Finance and Inequality (CASFI) is pleased to announce that Professor John Turner, CASFI Senior Research Fellow and Professor of Finance and Financial History at Queen's University Belfast, has been appointed to the Financial History Visiting Professorship at the House of Finance, Goethe University Frankfurt for 2026.

The prestigious endowed professorship brings leading international scholars in financial history to Frankfurt and strengthens research and teaching through a long-term historical perspective on finance. John Turner was selected for the tenth year of the programme in recognition of his internationally renowned contributions to financial and economic history.

During his stay in Frankfurt, Turner will teach a graduate seminar in the Faculty of Economics and Business, deliver a public lecture based on Boom and Bust: A Global History of Financial Bubbles, and organize an international conference entitled Insight from Hindsight: Useful Financial History. His activities will highlight how historical perspectives can contribute to contemporary debates and challenges in finance research and practice.

 CASFI warmly congratulates John Turner on this distinguished appointment and looks forward to the continued impact of his research at the intersection of finance, history, and inequality.
