To mark 100 years since Joseph A. Schumpeter joined the University of Bonn (Wintersemester 1925/26), the Center for Advanced Studies: Finance and Inequality (CASFI) will host the conference "Schumpeter@100: Firm Dynamics, Growth, and Heterogeneity", to be held February 19–20, 2026 at the University of Bonn.
The CASFI conference brings together leading international scholars to discuss recent research on firm dynamics, innovation, and economic growth, marking the 100th anniversary of Joseph Schumpeter’s influential ideas.
A highlight of the conference will be the Keynote Lecture by Marc Melitz (Harvard University, CEPR), one of the most influential economists in international trade and firm heterogeneity. In his keynote, Melitz will address Industrial Policies for Multi-Stage Production, offering key insights into current policy debates.
The conference features a rich program of presentations by researchers from universities worldwide and provides a platform for in-depth discussion at the intersection of macroeconomics, industrial organization, and economic history.
Please note that the number of available places for interested participants is very limited. If you would like to attend the conference, please contact casfi@uni-bonn.de. Participation requests will be reviewed based on availability.
